Surveying Oregon’s Marine Reserves
An inspiring ride along Oregon’s coastline.
This summer, TRFF board member Chris Rurik, along with Helen Helfand, traveled the full length of Oregon’s stunning coastline (nearly 400 miles of narrow roads!) to observe and write about Oregon’s newly designated marine reserves, which were created in a truly collaborative manner with community input.
The first of five posts is now live on National Geographic’s Ocean Views blog. The journey started by focusing on the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve and the town of Manzanita. Feel free to email us with any comments, and stay tuned for four more posts. Enjoy!
